Why he would be great Leader.

Hokage must be Strong= Check
Hokage people must like= Check (Before he left leaf every one was like crazy about him)
Hokage must make hard decision= Check
Hokage must Fight for his people= Check (Remember when he was fighting against Gaara and he ask Naruto to protect Sakura.)


And why he would be better Hokage then some one else:

He was talking with other kages and he know all things they was not able to do. All their fails. He felt pain of bad leadership.

So if Sasuke Loose his dark side He perfect Hokage. Say what ever you want be hater- but you must admit it.

You say he would have smart people. So if you need to make hard decision who would make them: Naruto or someone else ? Anyway it would be fail.
First Naruto is bad in making hard decisions, so someone else should make them. But if someone else make decision and Naruto don't like it (like he did about TSUNADES calls) he would change them by himself or he would let it go ?

Yeah, he is pretty much the village avatar, but he is also strong so it will at least make others hesitate to go against him. That and the nation's bijuu being intent on not going against him will definitely deter any actions against him.

As for any tough calls that would call for sacrifice, Naruto would suck in that department. Like if villagers were hit with an epidemic he would have to quarantine and possibly leave villagers to die. That kind of thing would break Naruto. He is just not fit for it.

Seeking Justice for your murdered clan is self serving? Him killing Karin is because Sasuke was overcome by the Uchiha's curse of hatred and at that point he was so drunk on hatred that he would have killed anyone who got in his way.

Sasuke is not currently helping the alliance to become hokage. Honestly I fail to see how the heck you even come to that reasoning. He is trying to protect the village that was important to his brother. He never said that he wanted to control anyone in fact he wanted to show the world an example of what a real hokage is supposed to be. That sounds like leading by example rather than force. He sees the problems in this system and he wants to use his powers to make those changes. It just so happens that the best position for that is the hokage title.

His only problem in his reasoning is just like the other Indra incarnations he believes that his power is all he needs to make those changes

And goal before ? First goal kill Itachi.
Second Was protect Sakura. He would die just to protect her(we could see it in fight vs gaara and in exam forest). But later on it changed like everything else.

Thats why im saying that if he come back to those times he could be Hokage.
Don't be one sided that Sasuke was always selfish. And "Shiro Yaksha" post kinda explain how his goals could change.
