"i didn't come all this way to not destroy konoho." uses amaterasu on the surrounding trees and goes back to his team and tells them that he destroyed konoho all by himself. then madara comes in and slaps sasuke for lying.

@topic, i would say that in difficult situations or with strong emotions, some techniques are unlocked the first time. but i think with amaterasu it's the same as with the other sharingan-techniques, once unlocked they can be used whenever you want.
however, destroying konoha doesn't seem to be a big problem after the last few mangas, cause there's not much left at all

I agree with H. Sarutobi and Revan. I don't think Sasuke needs to feel a certain emotion when performing Emo - I mean Amaterasu. He was just in a desperate situation, and he had no other choice when fighting Killer Bee. Usually when characters use their strongest technique, they are in a desperate situation. I think Pein is an exception.

Naruto and the Kyuubi is a different story, though.

I'm pretty sure people have thought of this before, but I haven't seen any posts or threads on this idea. People are going on how naruto has to get something to defend against amaterasu, and a bunch of other stuff. But here is my idea.

When sasuke used amaterasu he was under A LOT of stress, and that triggered his emotions, and those emotions remembered his former team and how he wasn't alone. That was sasuke's "emotional" amaterasu, which is dependent on those emotions, then the ability put out amaterasu was based on his emotions which wanted to save someone(same with amaterasu sort of), this suggests that it REQUIRES those emotions.

I think that Sasuke will come to konoha and try to destroy it via amaterasu, but he won't have the emotions which triggered the original "emotional" amaterasu, and he will **** up and not be able to do anything, because he isn't trying to save anyone, and the remembering that he wasn't alone wouldn't count because he would be killing

i do not agree with the emotional part... think about this... there is a strong possiblility that the emotions only ACTIVATED the mangekyou sharingan... that's the same way that the normal sharingan is activated (or life death situations) but after u activate it once u don't need to use emotions anymore... the emotions activated it... but of course we can't know that for sure until he activates it again so u could be right... but i doubt it
