Why sasuke cried

I was thinking about the ending where Sasuke cried after Naruto told him he was his friend. AT first I took it at face value that he was just touched that Naruto genuinely cared even after all the things he did to push everybody away.

But after considering the larger narrative about yin and yang and how they contain parts of each other, looking at Sasukes moments of being positive and Narutos being negative, the ending wasnt about Naruto winning because he never actually won. He couldnt win just like Sasuke couldnt win in the first battle, both sides of the Tao are necessary, they cannot cancel each other out.

Sasuke never changed, there was never a moment where he just said sorry and admitted his wrongs or was beaten, he never changed to a happy person, even as an adult he is shown still as a recluse, grimace on his face, and thats important. Sasuke has to be the negative force that he alsways was because it essential to represent that side of the Tao. Naruto likewise never succumbs to negativity, although he has those elemnts within him.

Point being, Sasuke cries at the end because it is the realization that he is the person he is, and that he can never be happy. hes crying because of his plight, he never actually ever is shown to become friends with Naruto. These characters all represent aspects of the human psyche and Sasuke is locked in depression and hatred that I dont think he ever is saved from.

Even though I'm not a Sasuke fan, I can still tell it was a draw.

Technically it can't be a draw if one side officialy admits his loss.

i think he cried because of your initial deduction. w/o his clouded judment and one track agenda blinding him he noticed the sh*t naruto went through to get him back. as for the rest of your interpretation, its just that. your own personal interpretation.

imo sasuke lost, not physically but in terms of ideals. naruto's won. we see the future. things are being done naruto's way. the tailed beast are still there. the old gokage. there was no revolution. well not the one sasuke wanted. hence his loss.

and thats just my interpretation.

You need to read the manga again, because they were even and Sasuke was half blind. Stop hating.
