While I don't believe that Hiruzen is as weak of some people tends to believe, I doubt he was stronger than Hashirama..there's no way for prime Hiruzen to hold Kurama on his own, and the Shodai took both him and Madara at the same time ^_^

Plus, wasn't Hiruzen frightened (like all the others in the temple), during this scene?

It's true that we couldn't see him in his prime, but even then you can't declare him stronger than Hashirama, who subdued someone as powerful as Madara. Also, using all Konoha's jutsus is impossible. How can Hiruzen simply use Uchiha, Hyuga and Yamanaka clans' jutsus without possessing the Sharingan, Byakugan and special Yamanaka mind? Don't take databook hyperboles too literally.

You gotta re-read the technique list. I only listed techniques that do not require KKG. Databook 4 clearly states that he is capable of using the Leaf's Hiden (Clan Based) techniques.
