Why people hate Obito so much?

Ok I don't understand why almost of people on this base hated him so much.. I mean he a great character and very complex.. have so much potential as a good villain.

People hate him because they claim his character went downhill after his revelation. They say he was into rin too much so he's a pedophile. People like that can't understand the complexities of Obito's choices. There was a few things that maybe kishi could've done better..

He decided that a system that forces children to kill each other was terrible after he saw his friend kill his crush, and everyone decided that it was because of Rin's death, rather than hatred for the system that caused it to happen that made Obito go evil.

His choices were complex. He committed these crimes thinking for a greater good. Obviously not justified and he was just being manipulated but that just adds depth to his character.

The war wasn't only about Rin, it was about the dream world. That was his main goal.

He made mistakes and in the end sought redemption.. It's all about how you see it.
