Idk if Danzo has anything to do with it. but it seems like Oro's obbession to gain knowledge about everything and being immortal that lead him to dark side I think

Didn't the flash back about old Team Hiruzen say something about Orochimaru wanting to understand every jutsu and everything in the world so he could avoid future deaths of loved ones? Or was that a filler, because I clearly remember him asking Hiruzen about a snake that shed its skin and began a new, and that he wanted to understand jutsu to help others after Tsunade's little brother died. ( Again, it may just have been a filler. )

Anyways, Danzo doesn't really take them to the dark side. He simply does things the way he see fits, he did care a lot for the village and its people.

He cared about establishing order, but not about people. To him, people are expendable assets to further his goals.
