[Theory] Why neither of them deserves to be Hokage yet

Sasuke:

It's fairly obvious. Sasuke has some great ideas to change the Shinobi system. Getting rid of nations and limiting the power of the bijuu. Taking away the idea that each village is separate. The world does need a revolution, because the current system has led to many wars, genocide and near extinction of the ninja world.

But Sasuke can't be Hokage, because nobody acknowledges him. He has no popular support. He cannot do it alone or he'll end up too jaded and self-righteous like Madara. He needs Naruto there as the yin to his yang, to be the popular support and to keep a moral clarity about things.

Naruto:

This is less obvious. Naruto's idea to change the world is love, peace and friendship. People cooperate together and share their strong wishes with each other. Pretty much Naruto's got the typical shonen answer. Naruto believes humanity can work together to solve these problems. He is acknowledged by his peers due to his hard work and sacrifice.

But Naruto cannot be Hokage alone. Why? He lacks the intelligence. He lacks clarity of thought, and he doesn't have the grasp of world issues (politics, etc.) that Sasuke has. Naruto still has no answer for Pain's question. How would Naruto handle the other villages hunting the bijuu again? How would he prevent wars and limit the power of the villages? He needs Sasuke there as the yang to his yin.

This is why I think Kakashi will be the next Hokage, and in the movie it'll be decided Sasuke is to be a hokage from the shadows. I think Naruto will win their fight, but ultimately Naruto will need to compromise on the issue of the bijuu. They have to go somewhere that mankind isn't, so that they aren't constantly hunted for their power.

Well whatever the case may be, Sasuke's plan is sure a hell of lot more realistic than Naruto's foolish beliefs.

Another Naruto bashing thread.

The author of the manga obviously doesn't consider it an easy choice as to who the next Hokage should be, or he wouldn't dedicate an entire chapter to the idea of the clash of these 2 ideologies. NB may want to see Sasuke get curb stomped and lose out totally in the end, but in truth Sasuke has just as many valid points about their world as Naruto does.

It's also been a manga cannon for quite awhile that Sasuke = Naruto or so in terms of power. They both got half the Sage's power afterall...

Yeah but not everyone believes in Naruto either. Ay didn't (Raikage). He probably wouldn't want Konoha to walk away with all 9 TB and most of the army. Do you remember how little the Go-kage distrusted each other at the summit? They'll go right back to that now that a common enemy is gone. If you think people can just live in a world and share power like that... That's not realistic.

If Naruto got his way totally right now it'd just start another war for power and greed. Because Konoha would have too much power with Sasuke and Naruto as the Jinch of all 9 TB.

I don't want Sasuke to get curb stomped. But the reality is they are both probably going to curb stomp each other because they are both too stubborn to admit they are wrong. They are both too extreme, they need to meet somewhere in the middle because they both have some valid points to their arguments. There are times when only a show of power will work and there are times when only friendship, understanding and working together is the right approach.

Until they beat each other up enough to realize neither of them can beat the other, they will not be willing to accept that they need to compromise and combine their approaches for everyone's benefit.

Really You think they won't trust Naruto after the war. You have missed something I guess. They are all going to worship naruto as he is the reason they Live. He shared his KURAMA chakra with all of them no matter which village they belonged. He fought for all of them and all of the villages or villagers allied when gaara made his speech before war. So all of you arguments are invalid. Personally I don't want naruto or sasuke or Sakura either to be hokage. But As far as choice go naruto deserves to be the hokage and is best choice

Actually only person who doesn't deserve to become Hokage is Sasuke, No one should become Hokage when they threaten the lifes of the former Hokage the ones who built, lived and died protecting the Village where Sasuke wants to kill them in order to further his goal of erasing the past these are people who are the Leaf, Born and raised he deserves to be killed for wanting to kill those people and thats why Naruto deserves the mantle of Hokage more for many reasons one of which was he has always protected the Leaf as best as he could where Sasuke seems to want to destroy everything it stands for so no he doesn't deserve to be Hokage only Naruto does.
