I think Nagato didn't bring back Jiraiya with Rinne Tensei because Jiraiya was at the bottom of the ocean with no arm. If we was brought back, he'd have been crushed by the pressure and drowned. Knowing this, Nagato realized it was pointless to bring him back.

I think he could only bring back recent deaths and maybe Jiraiya was too far away but yea your reason makes sense too

I think u r right.. waste of chakra too revive him if he just dies right away... but why does people keep saying that its "too late" too revive him.. wasnt the plan of Tobi too revive Madara this way and he have been dead for at least 15-16 years?

the rinne tensei was meant to be used for madara, so the fact that some time had passes since jiraiya died has nothing to do with why nagato didnt revive him... it probably was because there was a shit load of people for him to revive in the leaf village and he just didnt have enough chakra and lifespan to revive jiraiya

Even if he did, whats the point? He had one less arm. Useless! And dont forget that sometimes good guys have to die too. If not it will be like BDZ...

Jiraiya was sensei of nagato/yahiko. Nagato never wanted to battle with jiraiya but he had to.jiraiya was demised in that battle.if nagato revive him again he'd come again to fight him and make him change to leave akatsuki.so wat's best 4 him?not to revive jiraiya sensei.

I personally think you're overthinking it. He let him go because he knew he was finished.
Plus, had he been bought back he probably would have been revived later in the war making a huge problem for Naruto... because then there would barely be any time inbetween the plot to squeeze in a battle between them.
