seriously though.. He was a dark natured Ninja with good intentions. We've seen it multiple times throughout tv, games, movies etc.
intentions that included letting a city get mostly obliterated so he can "protect" the few remainder

with all his flaws i still think he was a hero and so does the writer (he gave him a heroic death/tribute in the anime).
hes a sociopathic tyrannical butcherer who is guilty of murdering hundreds of people. and you call him a hero? fine. go ahead. ill wait here back in sane land.
He did what he did to protect what he thought was the most important thing. - The village.
again the whole konoha dogma of "i can do whatever i want if i cloak it in will of fire and excuses"

I don't know why people think shinobi go around shitting sunshine and rainbows and everything's all goody goody. As a person yes danzo wasn't a good man.
and i wouldnt except the ninja world isnt portrayed as an evil dystopia where everyones as evil as everyone else. people like orochimaru sasuek and kisame are hated because they went overboard/left. but the people remainig are as bad or worse but no one says a thing.
how am i meant to think that the world is shitty and full of killers if said killers vilify and hate one another for being "too evil"? is it because kisame and hidan dont cloak their killing in political dogma and excuses?
if it werent for naruto and sakura, i really would feel like there were no good guys and it was just a shit place. but kishi wants us to believe naruto's the good guy and so is anyone following his way of doing things.
but at the same exact time, he asks us to accept that narto has no questions for itachi, and forgives all of itachis actions. so which is it? is naruto a bad guy who is ok with torturing children, or a messiah who is horrified at people whod do such a thing?

you won't be doing everything in your power to protect what you love then
i wouldnt butcher kids

Shinobi are killers, Liars, thieves so i fail to see why you're bashing danzo for being a murderer.
i wouldnt but we have people who dont do what danzo does like kakashi sakura and gaara and they are perfectly fine.
danzo has done things our protagonists havent and things id be disgusted by. therefore im disgusted by them and call him a villain.
and btw its one thing to kill. its another to kill and then cover it up with excuses like dogma and extremism.
those liars and killers do have standards. or else the uchiha genocide would not be a secret.

Danzo is the worst character in the manga and I don't think anyone forgives him or likes him maybe the minority but not the majority.
I don't actually get this approach to characters as if they are real people. Of course if Danzo was a person in reality he'd be considered terrible all over and all, but as a character in fiction he has some interesting contributions to the plot and therefore can be liked. For example I love Kimblee from FMA as a villain for how he is written, but of course I wouldn't go anywhere near him in reality :|

I get what your saying but I can't stand danzo fictional or otherwise. Oro is evil and I love that guy despite the fact if he was real I'd stay the help away from his but danzo is just the worst says this and that preaches things and does the opposite, he is very dispicable and has too much cowardice in him.p.s its simple you like some characters and you don't like others, you may think a character is stupid while another is smart one may be weak another strong just as one would be liked and another hated.

I never really hate (or even dislike) fictional characters, I often just don't care about them. The fact that Danzo could never become his own ideal ninja because he was too afraid is what makes him interesting to me. The only kind of characters I can truly dislike are the annoying ones (but mostly in media where they have voices, especially in games if they get in your way), or poorly written ones. But Danzo was meant to create a conflicting response among the readers I believe, and well, we are certainly showing it. Of course I'm not gonna try to push my views on others (moreover I know that I often have views that conflict with the majority of fans').

He's probably the most complex and well written character in the series though. He represents politics in the sense of committing dirty acts for the sake of a nation and shows leadership, something that both Naruto and Sasuke lack severely.

Again, like with Sasuke...its hard to say Danzos ideals were entirely wrong (obviously collecting the sharingan after their are conveniently massacred is pretty messed up) but as far as protecting Konoha..i do think he had it at best interest. During the Sasuke fight..though he knew Sasuke was a threat..i do think (correct me if im wrong) he intended on taking Tobi down during the Sasuke fight or after he showed up because he wanted to protect Konoha.

However his want for power did override his judgement on things, he doesn't believe what he did was wrong but that doesn't mean it wasn't. Also what he did to Tsunade was pretty messed up too, I know the countries were all kind of panicking and what not but he still should have offered to be a stand in or something and told them the truth up front about his "injuries". Karma got him though, just like i think Karma will teach Sasuke a lesson at one point.
