It's not only Obito though. Pretty much every Uchiha has their characters ruined because of that because it makes it out to be as though they're not the one in control of their emotions. Granted, it is SUPER obvious Obito was the REASON the concept was introduced, since starting a war over a girl who's been dead for 2 decades is asinine.
Obito really should have died after Kakashi stabbed him through the heart, followed by Madara using Rennie Tensei to revive himself, instead we waste like 60 chapters more on Kishimoto trying SO DAMN HARD in such a pathetic way to backpedal all of Obito's sins in order to "redeem" him. All the wars, all the countries, the jinchuriki, Uchiha, Mist Swordsman, Shinobi alliance. How did this retard even redeem himself? By helping Naruto? So what of all the other people he wronged? Leaving Kurnai and Mirai without Asuma, leaving Naruto an orphan, killing Neji, started a war that killed at least 60,000 people, massacring the Uchiha. It's so pathetic because even though Kishimotot tried so hard to redeem Obito, he CAN'T be redeemed unless the whole world forgives him, because he wronged the entire world, unlike Sasuke, who wronged only a small handful of people.
He was such a cancer to the end of the war, honestly.
