Some say that the test had Sasuke's DNA in it :lol
These people are Grade A level slow. That isn't hair, that isn't even a body part or something that comes out from the outside of your body. It's a cord, most likely an umbilical cord. Now in the case of Karin being the woman who helped delivered Sarada, marks the question as to why:
>They would have this baby outside of Konohagakure in the first place
>Why Sakura/Sasuke kept a picture of Team Taka at their home
>Why Sarada wears glasses :lol
>Why Sakura said she would sit down with Sarada and talk to her, and Sasuke said she had no reason to apologize, it was his problem after all.
It all seems to add up on the contributing factor that she isn't the biological mother, but she is HER mother. She raised her. Why Karin never raised her in Sakura's place, the reason is unknown, but we all asked the same question when we found out Sasuke wasn't home either for about 8~+ years, so Karin obviously would have a reason, my guess is something to do with Orochimaru. He is about perfection after all, and an Uchiha mixed with an Uzumaki ... Is nothing short of perfection.
Anyway, I researched, asked questions, and then I simply just wiki'd shit. Here is why the umbilical cord is important in Japanese culture.
Whether the DNA sample was Karin's, or Sarada's, the answer should remain the same. Unless Kishimoto decides to screw with it.

Japanese said:Japanese custom is based upon the belief that the umbilical cord has a direct relationship to the health of the baby. Maltreating it, therefore, risks causing harm or disease in the child. In some Japanese households, a mother may show a child the umbilical cord on certain events like birthdays to recall the day the child was born. In other households, the umbilical cord is given to a child on the day he or she leaves home or gets married to symbolize separation. Also, a preserved umbilical cord is considered to be a cure for the child when he or she is sick. Parents would cut a small portion of the cord and feed it to the child. Additionally, the Japanese believe that the umbilical cord is a symbol of the child’s fate. So if one loses his or her umbilical cord, his/her spiritual fate is considered lost as well.
