gai's speed means jack when itachi can evade kcm naruto levels speed with ease.

I'll be the first to wank Itachi in a thread, but Madara stomps Itachi in terms of feats. He's currently doing in 2 chapters what took Obito, Akatsuki, including Itachi years to do. My honest rankings go

Madara- solos shinobi alliance, defeats 5 kages mid diff, holds off Naruto and Bee (2 perfect tailed beast hosts), solos Hashirama, owns Sasuke(blind), solos 9 tailed beasts with one attack, and currently sealing 9 tailed beasts in 1 chapter.

Minato- wipes out an army in seconds(off panel), defeats Obito quickly, uses s/t jutsu on a tailed beast bomb, transports the 9 tails, seals away the 9 tails after being impaled.

Itachi- 1 shot king, but never showed to go all out like the other 2. Love Itachi's battles, because he shows being subtle and intelligent is just as effective as being OP, but he never had a epic battle like the other 2.

In a 1v1 fight, Itachi against 99% of the shinobi world can solo.

then why didnt he kill orochimaru when he had the chance

Show me a scan where someone(apart from sasuke for obvious reasons), anyone, lasted more than 1 chapter in a fight with itachi. Then, maybe, just maybe you might have something here.
Itachi would bring guy to his knees easily. Itachi flawlessly kept up with Bee and KCM naruto

obito defeated almost every named character with bijuudamas till minato saved them. sure they arent dead but neither is any of itachis opponents.
also itachi has the biggest record of fearing and running from opponents.
