Why Itachi didnt acquire EMS?

I thought he just needed a brother/sister's Sharingan, does it actually have to be MS aswell? (chapter or something would be nice )

also as an edo he basicly has ems only he didnt get another jutsu from it he can use it without blindness

Actually, I don't think so.

The only two Uchiha who have acquired EMS have implanted MS as their new eyes. But Itachi clearly told Sasuke he would take his eyes and acquire EMS even though Sasuke clearly had only 3 tomoe Sharingans.

It just might be that Itachi was egging Sasuke on. He already had decided to die at his hand, so all the GIMME YER DAMN EYES EVEN THOUGH THEY AIN'T MS YET ARRR talk might have just been a play. :shrug:

That's the bit I am unsure about. However as Kirin said, Itachi was just egging him on and stuff.

Nope it could have been anyone with same DNA as him! So his mum, dad, brother or sister. I know he doesn't have a sister.

U have a point there... Gud one! Still they may have just been randomly said.
But I am convinced dat one must take the sharingans from his siblings i.e family members and implant them to acquire the EMS.

But (back to the topic) still it doesnt clear as to why Itachi didnt really acquire EMS, since he could've taken the Sharingan from his dad or mom.

But siblings don't include parents
