It means nothing when the so called master of the rinnegan couldn't even walk. It means nothing when the so called master was being totally controlled by a novice in rinne arts. It also means nothing when it was a 3-1 battle where the puppeteer was not even interested in Itachi and spent the whole time attacking the people he wanted to capture while Itachi watched on the sidelines and formulated a plan uninterupted. It means absolutely nothing.
