Trust me, he isn't. It's his own brand of childish sarcasm.
Then black pride, pride in sexuality, pride in your appearance in general I guess should apply as well?
Pride is reserved for an achievement. You can't be proud of, for example, for being white because this is genetic influence. This is the problem with your question. Now, why is it considered racist? You will have to return back to school and take history lessons. White pride lead to oppression and genocides of ethnic groups & religious groups, as well as racial separation. It's not socially viewed as racist when said for black pride, because black people don't have history of oppressing and cleansing minorities like white pride.
So if you are going to take British empire as "white pride" then I suppose you are also going to take responsibility of 10 million deaths during White Man made famine( literally) in Bengal in 1770 and 4 million deaths by hunger again in 1943 - again because the British government didn't care for dark skinned Bengalies.
"In the first years of the rule of the British East India Company, the total land tax income was doubled and most of this revenue flowed out of the country. As the famine approached its height in April 1770, the Company announced that the land tax for the following year was to be increased by a further 10%.
The destruction of food crops in Bengal to make way for opium poppy cultivation for export reduced food availability and contributed to the famine. The company is also criticized for ordering the farmers to plant indigo instead of rice, as well as forbidding the "hoarding" of rice. This prevented traders and dealers from laying in reserves that in other times would have tided the population over lean periods.
By the time of the famine, monopolies in grain trading had been established by the company and its agents. The company had no plan for dealing with the grain shortage, and actions were only taken insofar as they affected the mercantile and trading classes. Land revenue decreased by 14% during the affected year, but recovered rapidly. According to McLane, the first governor-general of British India, Warren Hastings, acknowledged "violent" tax collecting after 1771: revenues earned by the Company were higher in 1771 than in 1768. Globally, the profit of the company increased from fifteen million rupees in 1765 to thirty million in 1777. Nevertheless, the company continued to suffer financially, and influenced Parliament to pass the Tea Act in 1773 to increase import duties on tea shipped to the American colonies, which contributed to the American War of Independence in April 1775.
The Great Bengal famine of 1770 was one of a series of famines in India under British colonial rule that would continue killing tens of millions of Indians into the late 19th century and beyond."

Don't forget that much of industrial revolution in the West was being financed on the cost of such policies and on the pile of bodies. Not only Britain but other "British colonies like USA also benefited due to British policies in India.
I'm just warming up here. ^^ Be proud sure- but don't expect others to be impressed for a pride like that.
Our imperial legacy was brutal there is no denying that but significantly more so than most other historical empires (after the economic and technological disparity is accounted for)? Not really, to be honest.
The great Khan is estimated to have slaughtered about 10% of the population of the entire world at the time but the Mongol people still take pride in that empire and have erected a statue of its founder in Ulaanbaatar. By contrast,
I was told back in history class here in England that Mahatma Gandhi was a great man.
And the British left from the same door they came in - our influence on your way of life was ephemeral, whereas the same cannot be said for those other conquerors of your land, the Muslims.
As for something the British can take pride in, I think there is much to be said, to name one, there are very few other peoples who rival us for per capita contributions to science. In fact I think the Germans and the Ashkenazi Jews are the only serious competitors we have for the title of the most productive people in history.
A*
The irony.
What the **** is this shit? Being proud for being white? Lol why? You haven't done anything, achieved anything but your proud of being white? Being proud to be a race is just dumb, pride should only be for something that you earnt. And that guy earlier who said the greatest footballer was black, greatest cricketer was black Lmao talking like it's universally accepted. And race had nothing to do with their achievements.
Eh.
I don't know how I could be proud of such being "white" when that would include people like Donald Trump and the English.
I am - however - proud of being Scottish. Why? Because my country is f*cking beautiful - our history is epic - and many countrymen have made great discoveries, pioneers in invention - science - medicine etc.

... national pride is easier to understand. It's culture, a main aspect of our social identity.
Being white, to me is on par with me having red hair and grey eyes. Actually, it ranks lower than being a redhead - that's actually more significant. We're an endangered species after all.

Yes, you shouldn't be proud of your appearance. Who the hell walks around saying ' I'm proud I look good'?People who are attractive haven't done shit as well. Does that mean people shouldn't take pride in their appearance? Your just lucky you look good
@Bold, I was mainly trying to talk about the cultural/historic aspects behind it like you and it got misinterpreted, although people can be proud of their skin color too if they want. Nothing wrong with that.
My lover is Scottish and I've been there; it's a really beautiful place <3

I'm white and I am so proud of my skin colour. My white skin enables me to handle colder climates better and entitles me to more money at work because everyone knows that white money is better than black money due to being more legitimate. It also allows me to be treated better with the cops because everyone knows that white represents happiness and life and black represents death, which is why a lot of people where white at weddings and black attire at funerals. Lastly, and most importantly, my white skin is more prone to getting skin cancer which incentivises me to stay away from the 3rd world shitholes which make up the bulk of the tropical/warmer areas of the world and stay in the richer Scandinavian countries. So yes, my white skin is something I'm very proud of. White pride FTW!
People with decent self-esteem..
Or none of it, as they have to declare their "pride" consistently.
You don't need to declare it consistently, or at all, to be proud of something :lol
