Why is it that Boruto doesn't have Byakugan?

I mean Boruto mother is Hinata who is a Hyuga who has the Byaugan. How is it that Boruto doesn't have the Byakugan?

Himawari has the same eyes like Boruto, yet Himawari unlocked her byakugan while Boruto hasn't unlocked it. Why hasn't Hinata taught Boruto how to unlock the byakugan.


Edit Sarada was able to unlock her Sharingan.

Since boruto isn't a full blooded Hyuga it's not guaranteed he will get it but I would of assumed since he's half Hyuga that would be enough especially since his mom got Hamura chakra.

Kishimoto said he was supposed to have it, but he forgot. But in the Movie, he decided against it? I dunno but he allowed Himawari to activate it.

The only logical reason is that Kishimoto doesn't want Boruto to awaken the Byakugan for what is happening in the spin off.

Or Kishi was lying about it didn't he Initially say he had no plans for a continuation of Naruto

maybe he was going to give it to them but since they are half, they would have to unlock it first.

The revision probably came after when he wanted to parallel Boruto to Sasuke and give him only one eye.

Imagine tenseigan in one and rinnegan on the other.

The truth is because Kishi did not like the way it looked and wanted Boruto to be a clone physically of Naruto since his whole claim to relevance is being Naruto's son which meant blond hair and normal looking blue eyes. He also at least initially wanted Boruto' abilities to be closer to Naruto's own but if he had the byakugan he may have taken more after the other Hyuga who focused on the gentle fist style which Kishi did not really want to be Boruto's thing. That does not mean the new author can't make the byakugan relevant to Boruto later though.
