Why is it assumed Yata and Totsuka statements are hyperbole?

- Yata Mirror is invincible
- Totsuka Blade cuts/pierces anything

I would understand if this was dated info that has been disproven... But it hasn't. All feats and scans in the manga suggest Yata Mirror blocks all attacks and Totsuka can pierce anything.

I challenge someone to find me scans suggesting otherwise.

As the databook was disproven several time, for example; Amateratsu being as hot as the son, yet not melting a shinobi instantaneously. The statistics are quite vague, 1-5, which implies Kishi didn't want to put too much effort into it.
