Why is Ao's Byakugan not Continuously Activated?

Well I saw early today a thread about why Kakashi can't deactivate his sharingan so I remembered I have a question.

When Ao revealed that he possessed a Byakugan that he had taken form a Hyuga clan member, I found it to be very odd that it was not continuously active, as were Kakashi and Danzo's Sharingan, and that it did not drain an extraordinary amount of chakra because he was not a member of the Hyuga clan, as do Kakashi and Danzo's Sharingan.

Why might that be? I understand that the Byakugan and Sharingan are different from each other, but I believe that any kekkei genkai that are somehow appropriated by a person who does not normally possess them should have some form of penalty that a person born with it should not possess. Why do Kakashi and Danzo have drawbacks for not being Uchihas, but Ao does not have a drawback for not being a Hyuga? That seems to be very unfair, to me.

I think it has something to do with the seals on his ear, and the eyepiece over the eye with the byakugan

Danzo's right eye is always activated like Kakashi's. I am pretty sure about that

It could be flaw in the story or

maybe that is just the way the eyes work when the person dont have the blood line

the hyugya family got to perform a hand seal to activate the eye at first, so may be it applies to an outsider having the eye.the hyugya has only one type of eye,when byakugan is deactivated , it doesn't revert to a normal human eye.

the sharingan doesn't require seal to be activated.and the sharingan while deactivated return to their normal eye like ordinary human

i agree remmember when itachi used genjutsu against sasuke when he took his eye and put it in a jar it stayed activated xd

Were getting close to this battle in the anime and it will be settled once and for all. And if Shusuis eye was always active why wouldnt/couldnt he controll everyone around him with out them noticeing all the time? But again Danzo says that he cant use Shusuis doryoku all the time. So as a skeptic I'll beleive on the contrary till clinicly proven otherwise.

thats a diffrent page at a diffrent angle. On the page I showed you also get the sound effect comming from his eye. It will be disclosed soon either way. The page before is a better example for your side imo. But I have a feeling its going to be at least two weeks or more though before this part of the fight! Ugh! the second pannel we see danzos back, and the one below the first you still can see white in the center of his eye. But as I said I'm a skeptic.



This is what sucks about only being able to referance the manga vs the manga and anime. I knew you were going to say the thing about it being printed wrong. Its a constant in these type of discussions.

well we still are looking too deep about it. in a couple of weeks we will witness the battle of sasuke and danzou, so we shall see it all (like a byakugan user xd)

Concured except I dont think we need to look very deep for our examples. No reading inbetween the lines or how one interperates what is said.

If Aos eye was always active why would he make a hand seal and then vens/chakra channels to his eyes bulge out?

nope, that is not the question of the thread. The question is : why isn't it always active as in transplanted sharingans ? I know it isn't always active, that is why I am asking xd
