[Discussion] Why I don't want Kinemon and Momo to join the crew

I know many ppl hope they will but I would really dislike it. Why?

Well luffy want a crew of about 10 members if they join there would be 11 already and if jinbe were to join there would already be 12 which would mean that probably no other member would join. That would be a mistake if you ask me because they do need another woman because I think now 7:2 is kinda the limit, Nami and Robin should get another female friend. The next crew member should be a woman. Also I think having 2 swordsmen is quite enough, Its true that Brook isn't a conventional swordsman but I think him + Zoro is quite enough, Zoro is THE swordsman and I think that alone is enough not to let another sword user join. Also Momo is still a kid and if he were to be amember he would eventually have to become very powerful and I dont want a kid becoming far more powerful than Luffy was when the series started, if a kid would to become that much more powerful than a 17 year old Luffy I think that would defeat the purpose of Luffy being the one ''destined'' to become the pirate king. And Momo to me just doesnt seem to be to Luffy what Shanks was to Roger and Luffy to Shanks. Also Rumble ball = Chopper, pls dont give Choppers specialty to anotherone.

Also the group doesnt need another perv (Kinemon), it already has 3 of them,each with their own gags. Also the joke of everyone swooning around the kid is just weird, Im betting Chooper and Nami wouldnt be the only ones Momo would walk over (that play in the last chapter was just weird).

The 10th member should be a woman and unless Jinbe joins afterwards it should stop there. Oda should make the rest of the members more powerful so that they could take on everyone rather than make new powerful members join. He could do a lot with the ones he already has.

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Franky - already powerful
Robin - is awesome but if she learned Haki + her df ability that would be awesome
Brook - maybe he should emphasize more on his unique abilities (as I sayd I would like Zoro to be THE swordsman of the group)
Usopp - he should be awesome, considering his father looks like a big time player in a yonko crew
Nami - she has an awesome weapon, she should become physically more strong
Chopper - is imo already awesome but lacks the confidence

+ the new member (hopefully a woman, maybe even a logia user)

and at the very last if it so happens Jinbe, but NOONE else

Anyway thats what I would like. Do you agree/disagree? why? what are your opinions on the samurai joining/not joining?

Hopefully, it is another woman who joins, but a strong one of that, one that can hold her own against tough opponents. She could be stronger than most of the crew, but not as strong as the monster trio.

Also, Luffy stated he wanted 10 members when he entered the Grand Line. This number could increase. Because i can't see the Strawhats conquering the Grand Line with only 10 crew members, not even the pirate king could do that.
I would like the Strawhats to have atleast 15 crew members by the end. I don't know if that is too much, but 12 crew members, who are all quite strong, along with the monster trio, would make for an awesome/formidable crew.

i dont really want them two to join for one they aint even pirates also it should be a woman and i know everyone's been saying it but that rebecca should be the one to join the minute she said she needed mera mera so she could beat doflamingo i got the feeling she will join and luffy will have her eat the fruit also as non of the crue will get it as it would clash with everything that they stand for and im not sure on how may luffy will get for his crue but it cant be to many as that would be a lot of main characters oda would have to work with so maybe rebecca and jimbe will be enough as that seems like an easy number to juggle for oda

well its certainly a good point, but there is one huge argument that could be made against 15 members: if Oda goes too far (that many more than 11 members) hes gonna eventually screw himself because 15 main characters would be too much to manage, every new member would steal a little bit of focus of everyone of the crew members that already exist and we love thats why I think creating a crew of more than 10 (or at the very limit 11) would be a disaster for the story.

I hope Oda knows this, or at least realises it before he shoots himself in the foot.

yeah i think this also 11 i see working also the straw hats may mirror that of shanks and blackbeards main crue

Yes, that's another thing i'm worried about. I don't know if 15 is to much or not.
For the time Law, Kinemon and Momo were with the Straw Hats, and even how they are now, things don't seem like they are too bad, i can definitely see the Straw Hats gaining 3 new members without the focus shifting to much between them all. 15 may be a bit to much, but i guess we will wait and see.

There have also been others who think that because Luffy is just that friendly type of guy, that he doesn't really need such a large crew. Because he is able to make so many Allies, like the Heart Pirates, that he can get help from his Allies rather than always relying on his crew to win every fight or overcome every challenge.

Luffy's said ten and that's how many there's gonna be. More than that will just be his allies. And if you say thy was at the beginning of te manga an Goda may have changed his mind. Well then, Luffy said at the beginning hell be PK buy I guess Goda changed his mind on that too.

yes its not too much because there are 9 crew memberes + as many side characters as in practically every arc, the crew still gets most of the attention

if there were 15 crew members there would be 15 crew members + just as many side characters as in practically every arc, I think that might get unmanagable

look what happened to the Naruto generation rookies in Naruto once so many new characters were introduced they were practically forgotten in shippuden
