[Discussion] Why I believe the Hyuga's are not going to affect the story.

Lol you're mistaken, Byakugan was mentioned in the very first chapters during Neji's fight vs Hinata and how it's superior to sharingan in terms of eyesight. Kishi had foreshadowed it from the very beginning, same thing happened with spiral zetsu. There was a time I made a thread about his strange disappearance and how it wasn't making any sense for him to be dead, everyone thought that he had lost his importance yet at the following chapter we saw him fighting against the whole alliance, that alone speaks volumes of Kishi's style to make things unimportant just to suddenly turn them completely.

Please dont look to over 600 chapters ago of a conversation as foreshadowing. No other development from there.

No one ever had a theory of them affecting the story, until Kaguya was shown to have the Byakugan. This means there was no evidence of that until now, so how can something that hasn't ever changed the plot be something important now?

Look at the conversation between Naruto and the Sage, the sage brings up the Byakugan for 2 seconds then moves straight to the sharigan. Naruto doesnt question it all, he knows of the Hyuuga's yet doesn't mention them. Its like Kishimoto just threw it in there so he could give the Byakugan a quick close.

The Hyuga characters are not really that imporant to the main story or plot. There has never been any evidence that would show that they are going to be imporant later on.

If any Hyuga was going to be important, it would have been Neji. He is dead, Hinata has only ever been involved in romance plot, Hanabi is hardly even known as is her father.

Conclusion:

I am sure Kishi will bring up the byakugan again but I dont think it is going to change anything. I dont hate the Hyugas but its just so late to include them now. Especially with the most talented one dead.

You may be wrong sine One Hyuga loves Naruto, Hinata and it may have an affect on their relationship.

Yes, the Hyuuga's are heavily underrated. I'd say Kishimoto probably either thought he made them too overpowered at the beginning or tried to mesh them into the story, but just couldn't make it work the way he wanted.

I've heard things such as he originaly meaning to kill off Neju in the rescue Sasuke arc but fearing the fan backlash so he let him live.

Not long ago I heard he stated in an interview he constructed Hinata before Sakura.

Don't argue with Honord Sage, hes way into this Naruhina thing, and actually thinks it has a major importance to the story.

But anyways concerning OP, yah you are probably right, unless within the next 2-3 chapters, the byakugan does something, it probably won't have any irrelevance to the story anymore...

Kishi did seem to toss the byakugan just at random to please the hyuga fans....

because the dojutsu has no build up, Madara, Obito, Orurchimaru have never sought out those eyes because they know the only dojustu that really matters is sharigan and rinnegan...
