Why has Yamato and Anko been forgotten?

Because of excessive fodderism found in their character .

I don't think Yamato is Fodder, He's awesome. He looked after Naruto way better than Kakashi ever did. I just want him to matter, maybe thats wishful thinking! :'(

Actual they were both really important however, their usefulness to the plot has been served. we might not see them again, maybe at the close of the series.

Kishimoto might forget about them... one of those things that fall through the cracks!

he might however (OR ANKO) will have a final scene hinting that Orochimaru is still potentially back...

1. They aren't important for the story line
2. The alliance can only assume they are dead, since Yamato was abducted, and the rest of Anko's team was killed, when they tried to flee.
3. There is war. Nobody got time for deploying a team to look for 2 jonin's that are probably dead anyway. They will do after the war.
