I believe goku is possibly the greatest character just yet in our history of fiction world, not just anime world cause he definetly blows it out of the water.
but also in the existance of fiction itself.
also dont bring batman bullshit up, because hes also holds a similarity to him.
simply because his strength came from simply intense training, instead of having these super powers from the beggining.
same thing with goku his strength purely wasent just some hoax power up, even though he was this low class warrior that vegeta should have killed, his will, determination and courage allowed him to surpass him but those werent just words or something that he believed in, he actually did it but constantly training every single day to test his limits and become the best he can possibly be.

dont bring john marston bullshit up cause he also holds a similarity to him
same thing here, both characters not only sacrificed their lifes for their family, but were willing to go above their limits to protect them even though they knew they were gonna die.

Goku can simply be relatable to any character at this point. hes like the avatar the master of all philosophy.
He has all the greatest qualities you could have as a person he is kind, gentle, selfless, determined and brave.
At the same time hes so strong yet so kind and will show mercy to any villain who will beg it from him, a strong sense of justice with each action he does.
Goku is by far the greatest hero to ever grace us, and I just feel that if I he wasn't in our lives somehow, we wouldn't have had such a deep connection and rememberance to this character. So here's to you Goku. Here's to a true hero.
