Hi guyz, I want to share this with you. It's something extremely personal, but I need to know.

Whenever someone close dies or gets heavily injured, I don't feel sad at all, in fact I try to kill boredom by watching funny videos!

Like before 3 days, a big car accident happened, where one car, being driven by a 18 years old guy, hit over speed and changed trajectory hitting 2 cars. It was so strong that the main car rolled 6-7 times, and one was completely crushed, and the other was buried under sand. There were 8 people beside the 2 cars that were hit at the side of the road. 4 died and 4 injured, 1 of the injured was my best friends that left the school (haven't met) since three years.
When I heard of it, I haven't even felt a little chunk of sadness, in fact I was like: Oh really? that's bad...

The 4 people who died were all between 17-19. I don't know them actually. So, is it normal or something weird.

And before 1 month my Aunt (Father's sister), who was extremely close to my father, died. I knew her since
I was 12 (18 now). My father cried. My brother cried. I saw her sons and daughters not to mention her husband, cry, yet I felt nothing at all. In the funeral, I just wanted to go home.

I feel so bad for myself. Does anyone have the same problem?

Im glad you said that here instead of trying to hide it, honestly it makes sense to try and stay positive but what you need to know is that showing emotion could be important for other people.
It may not be entierly honest but it is still important to have manners and show respect to sad things. Trust me. It is.

I would honestly say I suffer from the same thing, I can't remember the last time I actually cried when one of my family members or someone close dies. I think it hast to do with who you are and the things you hold dear to your heart. :(

Somehow this makes me feel better.

Thanks :), since there are different people here, I thought that I could share my trouble with you.
I feel really hypocrite when I fake sadness, but I guess there's no helping it.
You're emotionally numb just like me. :(
Mah *****
that's normal. i didnt' even care when someone in my family died, well only if i never met them
Yeah, that's the same as my situation, but people I have close ties with also don't make me sad...

Well you just understand the way things work. People die, its an inevitability. And while you were close to some of the people who you said died, i wouldnt say they were very important to you. Maybe if someone really closed to you died, you would feel something

No, you're kind of the same as me.
I guess you're not a cold-hearted person, it's just that your body does not know how to express those feelings, right? I usually keep most of the people away from me (without knowing it), so I won't get hurt when they die. I'd only cry if my father, brother or my mother dies, I think.

It depends. I'm emotionally numb unless its something i was personally involved in, or it was a person whom i had a personal relationship with. being "family" doesn't mean u have a relationship. it's always sad.. and to be honest, if i went to a funeral of someone i didn't really know.. i'd still be upset beceause funerals upset me, and the people who cry make me cry cuz i hate seeing people cry/feel so bad.. but there are many reasons to cry/not to cry when someone dies.. it depends on the situation, it depends on how that person is related to u or a friend, it depends how u feel about that person if u know them..

for example.. my cousin committed suicide taking HELLA pills, that happened 3 months ago.. I didn't know her, and i was in Belize at the time.. I said my peace about her to myself, but i didn't cry.. i didn't know her or have any attachment, but she WAS my family so no matter what, i felt bad.. at the same time i didn't know how to feel.. u know?

EDIT: you guys, QUIT calling him a sociopath.. it's NOT cuz he lacks empathy.. there's just some things where people don't know HOW to feel and/or don't know WHAT to feel.. Death affects everyone differently, depending on WHO dies and WHY or HOW.. as well as WHAT was their relationship to u..

for example, you ever read the OBITS and cry for them? NO!? Gee, i wonder why u don't cry for EVERYONE..

Maybe you truly don't feel any sadness towards some people. I don't know, I can see that you are curious, but I am of no help. Sorry.
Well, I could say sharing what you feel is helpful. Thanx
Try interacting with people. Until then you'll stay heartless.
Smh
Well, I think I have this problem too. I only interact with friends in school. Outside, nay. Maybe because everyone's an ass (the ones I talk to).
That's not the same thing...

OT: Well I don't want to disrespect but no empathy whatsoever is a sociopathic trait
Damn that was strong, well it's not that I am doing it on purpose. Why, do you feel sad?

It's normal man I'm the same way:)
This is somehow a relief. Thanx.

One of the injured used to be a dear best friend, he was literally like a brother to me, but left the school 3 years ago. I still think of him as a brother, but when I heard the news. I felt, meh, it's ok...

That's almost the same as me. I usually keep a distance off the people, sometimes my friend and my family too. This is a relief.
You lack empathy, which is one of the indications of a psychopath.
...Damn, another strong one. But, I don't do it on purpose -_-

You say that you don't feel anything when something emotionally substantial occurs, yet you're here, to seek the confirmation of others, to satisfy your own trivial emotional desire?

No.
