Why doesn't Kakashi use more Secret Techniques

Kakashi (or any sharingan user) has the ability to copy any technique they witness with his sharingan if they possess the prerequisites for preforming the jutsu.

My question is: what is so special about the hidden techniques that cause Kakashi to use some but not others.

For example, Kakashi has utilized the hidden mist technique (correct me if I am wrong) but he has never used any of the Nara clan's shadow techniques.

It is arguable that he does not use them out of respect for the Nara clan. However, if you look at the fight with Pain, Kakashi was in a life-or-death situation and he could have easily utilized the shadow possession jutsu on Pain while Pain was preocupied with the shadow clone.

What are your thoughts about this?

i think maybe cause its just an ability the clan has and no one else can use like how i doubt kakashi can use fang over fang with his ninken or how he can't do the mind transfer jutsu i think somethings just can't be learned

Well he has to possess the afininty to copy the technique. As he stated he can't Copy Bloodline limits either. That move is special to the nara clan. Just as the insects are to the aburame.

Kinda like naruto only has the wind affinity therefor can only use wind techniques. Not many ninja can use more than one. Kakashi can use fire, earth, lightening and water and i think wind. But he cannot copy special affinity.

Well i mean he has used a decent amount of them. He has copied 1,000 jutsu but that doesn't mean they were good jutsu or that he mastered them. I mean he could have copied naruto's seduction technique and there would be no use for it.

I mean just like if he copies Katon he wouldn't want to use it because it is a basic technique. Also, he uses taijutsu a lot along with Raikiri he has no chakra for anything else it seems

He has wind but that is not proven by the fact he can use rasengan. Rasengan doesn't use wind chakra it uses chakra-chakra. wind charkra is used in rasenshuriken

Actually, there is apparently (I am not 100% sure) a technique known as wind style: rasengan and that rasenshuriken is a more powerful form. At least that was my understanding.

I don't think so, i am pretty sure Naruto learned Rasengan wayy before he was aware of his wind affinity. As jiraiya put the rasengan into naruto's arsenal at the age of 13

And naruto was unaware of his wind affinity until around Asuma's death period

NO, I am pretty sure that he used his wind affinity to make a wind style rasengan( in addition to the normal one). He doesn't use it because rasenshurikan is better. Here is the narutopedia article

.. Well like that wiki said it is better than the original rasengan, MEaning his original didn't have the wind release. That didn't appear until naruto shippuden episode 81.. Right after Asuma's death.


The Rasengan does not require any hand seals to use, relying only on the chakra control of the user. Once it is complete, it becomes self-sustaining, which does not give the Rasengan a definite limit like the Chidori.

Wait, there's no way Kakashi can use all 5 elements. I thought the only person who could do that had to have the Rinnegan? I don't think he has wind, we've seen him use Earth, Water, Lightning, and Fire right? Maybe he has wind instead of Fire.
