Why does Sasuke think he can be hokage?

Does he think he has some leverage cause of Itachi's sacrifice? Or that his contribution in the war is enough to cleanse his sins? He killed Danzo, Sasuke has to have a trick up his sleeve even though almost all these problems stem from the uchiha/Madara. A chapter of Sasuke talking one on one with the elders is inevitable

He has it set in his head that only he knows what a real* Kage is, and that he has an obligation to demonstrate it to the rest of the world, so that the village system can divert away from making people sacrifice themselves, or their clans*, for the sake of the village itself.

Well so far its kind of been the strongest ninja in the village as hokage so the only real candidates would be Kakashi, Shikamaru, Naruto and Sasuke. Also to be fair everybody but Naruto (I think has killed someone).

Itachi already told the requirement for the hokage and naruto is already fulfilled that requirement of friendship

in all honesty if naruto and hashirama tell the alliance to forgive sasuke do u really think people will go against them.. same for hiruzen..and most likely gaara and tsunade would forgive him because of what he means to naruto.. plus with his help in the war considering no one else apart from a few can do anything him being there is a neccesity

Sasuke is gonna get the credit for stopping Edo tensei cuz Itachi has to remain a criminal, Sasuke also saved everyone by bringing Oro and the Hokages, all that and Sasuke freed Oro's test subjects. All this plus playing a very crucial role in the war may be enough to get him to be seen as a hero, but Hokage is a long shot.
Maybe something will happen during the war, Sasuke is in good with the author after all, they'll work something out. XDXDXD

Oro stated cleary that he was following Sasuke so if Sasuke decided to destroy Konohamaru and Oro went along with it it would be Sasuke's blame. Therefore since Sasuke decided to protect the village and asked Oro to ressurect the Hokages Sasuke gets the glory

First of all, I hate Danzo. He cause so many innocent uchiha death and take their eyes for his own advantages. A guy like this should die earlier.
Sasuke is a type who like doing a thing by his own way. He doesn't care others feeling as long he is reaching his target plan. He doesn't trust anyone( exclude itachi ).
So the answer is simple.

Can or not be hokage is not a problem. I only need to know I want to/must be hokage. That's all.
Whorever blocking my way will be my enemy.

Sasuke believes a Kage should sacrifice himself before all others of the village (ala Itachi) where as a regular Kage like Hashirama etc acknowledges the rights of those members of the village to make their own sacrifice for the village.

Sasuke intends to take away the villages free will in a sense.

In the end Sasuke doesn't acknowledge anyone else but Naruto (even that not sure about).

Where as Naruto acknowledges the strength of the village and all his comrades.
