Why does Naruto's Yang chakra not affect Obito/Zetsu hybrid?

We've seen Naruto using his Kyuubi Yang chakra to make the numerous Zetsu clones he has attacked burst into trees from the reaction, but why have we not seen this affect on Obito? We know Obito has been merged with part of Hashirama's cells which were used to make Zetsu clones. Is it because he is half Uchiha and half Senju? It seems that it may be an oversight by Kishi that Naruto can trigger Mokuton's growth by touching it with his chakra. I don't believe Naruto ever touched Madara with his chakra, but he definitely got Obito in the face and on his arm.

Simply put, Naruto's chakra should cause the merged Zetsu/Hashirama DNA to explode with life force and burst into trees, yet this has not happened. A mistake by Kishi or something that has been subtly explained?

I think their death triggers the transformation into trees. Obito is still very, well, alive.

If he does die then it might make a nice scene, a soltary massive tree amongst all the destruction.... :T_T:

Good call x iiiMPerFeCT. + Rep for that, didn't think about this. Yet I am still uncertain. Yamato has shown that just being near Naruto can cause his Mokuton to react. Not trying to argue, I just honestly feel that Kishi missed something here. Naruto has a strong affect on Wood release when he is around Yamato and Zetsu clones, yet not around Hashirama himself, Madara or Obito. Wish there was a solid explanation, yours is certainly a good one.

As for better control over Mokuton - perhaps...but would you say he has any better control than Yamato whose Mokuton naturally responded to Yang chakra, which surprised Yamato.

The zetsus started turning into trees after naruto attacked them
So it might happen if naruto attacked obito when he's about to die but it might not work because obito has had hashis DNA most of his life

Obito is more than just senju cells and has control. Same for Madara. Danzo could control the cells as well (didnt fight Naruto though) until he was badly wounded and the cells bursted into a tree.
Zetsu is purely senju cells and will burst into a tree after getting attacked by a big enough attack from Naruto.

Zetsu clone bodies are probably made from mokuton and so they are more like plant than human were Obito is Human so his Chakra is basically his own but boosted with Hashirama cells-chakra.
Zetsu clones are not linked to anything human so they are just like Yamato's mokuton created branches and just as those branches react to Naruto's yang the Zetsus do the same and Obito doesn't as he is different from that.
