But this goes across the board of all genres not just rap. But it's a generational thing.

My parents think the music of the 90s early 2000's is all garbage and we don't know what good music is. Their parents said the same thing about their music, and we will say the same thing about out kids music and so on.

There are a few good ones out there from every genre, but the reason it seems like crap is because the music of today (OP) is not speaking to your generation but a younger one.

It depends, mainstream pop artists are getting a lot of fame really, well unearned fame apparently, that has no value, and doesn't validate their skills as musicians in my personal opinion, taylor swift, katy perry, meghan, one direction, well most newer bands are not even that good, A fine example would be bands like BvB who use generic riffs, drums, not really appealing to me, tolerable vocals, BOTDF and other scene bands with their electronic shit lmao, who won't even dare play their own insturments and think it's all about the melody that generates out of their voices, oddly enough, there are great bands/artists out there, ironically, the shitty ones get acknowledged more. Now I'm really into metal and hip hop.

I like Puddle of mudd, the became shit tho, drift and die is probably my fav song from them.

Well sir, in all honesty, it's your opinion. I personally love some of the music coming out this day in age, and I also love older music (70's, 80's mostly). I can't stand when people rant about how music sucks these days because it's just not true, take Artists like Ed Sheeran into consideration.

And it's just laughable because the people that came before the time of the music that you like, said the same exact thing about it. So eh, just a +1 to complain about I guess xD.

what "sucks" is entirely subjective. There's ppl that believes rap from that same point in time suck compared to 80s Hip-Hop/Rap. I prefer a lot of modern Rap/Hip-Hop that comes out of the Bay area over a lot of past and present acts.

I honestly don't believe music is starting to "suck" more, it's just that you're seeing it as being crappier.
Nowadays no matter which song, or music you visit you'll see it littered with comments about how "Horrible, bad vocals, and shitty" it is, no matter how good it actually is.

It's like those asses that go around saying "Tupac > [insert-person]", honestly Tupac sounds like shit, but he gets recognized.

I feel that it's just everyone's opinions which lower how much you like something, surely if your favorite song was littered with people speaking of how horrible it is, you wouldn't really value it as much.
You'd then be looking back on pretty much all the music you like, and saying "Wow, if my favorite song was bad, this one must be bad."

Music gets too much pressure now.

Yeah, that's actually quite funny, to be blunt most artists do in fact suck nowadays compared to most older ones, in number, the newest gen would take the poll, in all honesty. Youtube is retarded anyway, now ironically, the beatles were dissed for being young talentless pheggots, homo's, during their early years, same for most boy bands like backstreet boys and N sync, all I see is people fanboying BSB and N sync and the famous one direction is horrible debate 1D vs BSB, 98 degrees, westlife. Leads me to assume in 20 years or so Avicii might be the next led zeppelin, rolling stones, or whatever.

Mainstream music sucks. (Suprisingly the 80s and 90s and 70s and 60s mainstream music doesn't suck). Though that's no rule. I myself have like 10 artists that are mainstream but are continuing to enjoy their music, and are awesome.
