Why does Madara still need a mask?

Read latest chapter manga.

His weird "dimension jumping" jutsu appears to focus around the mask, which twists and swirls.

Maybe inside the mask is a similar seal to Minatos FTG, and allows him to transport at will making people think hes not using seals etc.

To help in the discussion 2 things...
1. Kakashi wears the mask because the sharringan can't be turned off, and it drains his chakra. Madara could possibly have this same issue for some reason?
2. There is a manga chapter where Madara approaches Itachi when killing his clan. And we see Madara wearing a different "one-eyed mask" that the one Tobi is using... but still... a one eyed mask...

his mask has a great deal of significance, i believe that with his mask his warping jutsu is possible, you notice how he has two sharingans but only focuses his mask on one, his right eye probably controls the space time continuum jutsu he has and magnifies it.

i was talking about the lower part of the mask not the one covering his eye

I like this idea, he probably is covering the other eye because it has the eternal MS on the right. He covers it for the same reason Kakashi does because he cannot turn off the eternal MS and drains him. But that leads me to another question, if someone does have EMS does that mean that they cannot turn it off and if so does it use chakra... seems like a huge drawback to the EMS even though it is powerful

I think that Kishi is just gna wack som unpredictable story. That is why madara has da mask. i seriously cnt see why kishi would keep the mask. all i no its gna be mind-boggling

2 theories Madara still wears his mask to hide his unsightly battle wounds from the first Hokage whom I believe had sealed his power somehow with a hidden justsu. Also his mask keeps the mystery of his EMS a mystery, as he is said to have retained all of his ocular abilites according to Itachi and this maks enables him to cover his EMS up, since he has the space dimension time warpy no jutsu he only needs the one eye to perform this justu.

Or as someone said it contains a seal on the inside of the mask. Maybe his hidden sharingan reads and performs the justu from that perpsective without showing the use of hand seals but rather his eye activates the seal behind the mask allowing his incredibly vexxing ass jutsu to work who knows these are just my thoughts on it!

listing most significant:
-kakashi
-Ao
-Danzou
-Mizukage(who knows?)

Then i wouldn't be surprise that:
a)for an evil twist in the tale, madara had already snatched nagato's eyes(not very logical but possible to control jyubii)
b)madara is missing an eye during his battle with first
c)somwhow madara went back in time and stole rikoudou's sennin's eyes
d)there's a 4th form of the sharingan which is just like the elder brother's eyes and he couldn't turn it off in his right(?) eye.

a) Not very likely considering hes been wearing the mask for years.
b) Possible
c) I would kill Kishi if he introduced time travel.
d) Would be interesting but I think 3 forms is enough especially since none of the current character have the EMS as of now. (Maybe Madara/Tobi but we don't know.)

Personally I just don't think its Madara. Why would Kishi constantly be stating its Madara but then not give us definitive proof? Why not show his face? Why not have an older character confirm its Madara? To me it seems like hes purposefully trying to convince us that its Madara just so he can make Tobi someone else and screw with us. Also why has Madara lost his EMS if its him? I think it may be because its either not his real body, or its not him.

It just seems too sketchy to actually be him.
