OT: I guess the same reason Suigetsu's and The Current Mizukage have those shark like teeth I suppose. I guess it's a clan trait. Maybe there are shark deities like the toads or the snakes and their clan is tied directly to them and thus take on some of their physical traits? This is completed and utterly a guess on my part of course. :wut:

I think Kishi originally intended on that because Sage Mode was never a thing in part 1, snake is the symbol of evil and Orochimaru seemed like the final villain at the time so maybe he was originally meant to be a supernatural being of some sort.

Because of his origins, Im assuming using a certain type of jutsu and having a blood contract with an animal, with change your chakra, chakra is apart of the DNA, so somehwere along the line natural selection takes place to make that chakra a natural thing.
