i presume naruto manga aka shonen jump come out early in the morning (Wednesday)

now becose the time difference (i live in europe) it takes the translators like 20+ hours to translate it why?

First they have to scan it, clean or fix it all up, find the most appropriate translations, clean it up again, finish it and then begin to upload.

Or so i assume that is how they do it and why it takes so long. But you shouldn't judge others on how they do stuff and why ti takes so long, I bet if you or I were translating and it took time people would complain. Just wait and enjoy the manga.

I think there are different scanners that do it at different times maybe, incase some are busy or something. But they usually release it at 4pm Eastern, i usually wake up at 3-5PM Pacific and check stuff and they usually upload it. but lately things have been late and stuff, nothing we can rly do but wait.

Well they could do it faster, iuf you want quality like this:

then you have to wait for them to clean it

Oh and bleach is out, so its naruto only now ^^

they usually work on multiple mangas at a time.. and also, they have their own lives to live.. this isn't a job, they're just fans doing it on their spare time..

About quality has nothing to do with the late release. Every week they were working on different mangas, why late this week? There has to be some other reason.

Translating it doesn't take long
but the manga scanlation consists of 3 parts.
The scanner, the translator, the cleaners/scanlators.

Scanning doesn't take long, but the size of the raw scans are huge, they are like 5000x3000... so the file is pretty big, and the scanner isn't only scanning naruto, he scanning almost all the jump mangas. So lets say it takes 1 hour to scan em all, or lets say 30 min, then it takes like 15 min to upload all those mangas, somewhere, they would be around 300 mb, im just assuming. and then the translators and cleaners download the manga, 5-10 min depending on their internet speed.

Translator takes 30 min- 1 hour to fix up a proper translation.
The cleaners take 5-10 min to clean each page, say there are 3-4 cleaners, there are still 17 pages. 17 divided by 4, is almost 4 and half that times like 8 min is 30 min per manga. + typesetting that'll be 1 hour, + redrawing,

its like 1 and half hour - 2 hours per manga, somewhere there + getting the scans, its around 4 hours.

Lets say for example one of the translators are missing, then it takes even longer.

dude. just be thankful you have the internet to read the damn thing. jump in the states is way behind japan. plus these guys that take time to do all the uploading and what not do it for nothing and they arn not really supposed to be doing it so, all i have to say is thanks for taking the time to bring us this manga
