Why does Hiruzen have a fanbase?

I'm new to NB forums and I have noticed a large Hiruzen fanbase and thats not a problem, but why is it so large? When ever he is brought up as a topic, you have to bring up his prime. I remember him being old for the entirety of the series, was there a Hiruzen Prime gaiden in the manga I didn't see? After getting OHKO'd by Juubito he's been MIA for the majority of the war arc, just to return and fight a Zetsu.

Is the fanbase serious, or is it a sort of NB only meme? This is the first time I've seen actual Hiruzen fans.

Because he looks cool, his summon is badass, the character itself is folkloric, and he's supposedly the strongest kage ever aswell as the 3rd person in history to be called "God of Shinobi."

I like him becuase he has one of the most badass figths in part 1 and one of my favorite deaths in the series
- He likes to resolve thing with peace inst4ead of violence
- Most of all he reminds me of the old school days where it was about the variety of techs you had versus bloodlines and incarnations, and in my mind he portrays that better than any other character in the series

Don't forget he was the one that saved Naruto from the god tree sucking away all his chakra and no one else could of reached him. Have to give him credit for saving Naruto at least.

becaus he saves ppl...he is a solid kage dispite his mistakes....and he used all five elements with 5 clones fighting spiral zetsu....and he should have one....ramen guy on the other hand should not and the base loves to bring him up its super annoying
