Sasuke did not seek revenge on the village because they asked him to kill Itachi. He sought revenge because they ruined Itachi's life and massacred the guilty and innocent Uchiha. It doesn't matter if Itachi did it willingly to Sasuke, they ruined his life. Sasuke wanted to pay evil unto evil.

You can't stereotype an entire group like this. anytime you say 99% of this group is this, your argument is invalid. No group is that homogeneous. No group is evil based on genetics. The very thought is egregious. Both parties are in the wrong. The Uchiha had been denied due influence, but they resorted to violence. This is understandable but wrong. the village committed genocide. they killed indiscriminately. they killed the innocent children. this is genocide, a crime against humanity
You're correct about paying evil unto evil. It makes Sasuke understandable but not justified. If someone did that to my family, I'd want them dead. I wouldn't be in the right but I'd want them dead. Revenge is fundamental human flaw.

Actually Sasuke isn't as realistic as most fans think, humans don't change their opinions nearly as much as he does for instance, when he learned the truth about Itachi, any real human would have rejected the truth even if presented with cold evidence, he would have continued to reject it because he wouldn't be able to handle the reality that he spent years hating and trying to kill someone who loved him.

OT: My only annoyance with his character is his arrogance and his lack of understanding that choices have consequences.
