Why do so many people try to excuse Sasuke's plan to destroy Konoha?

The key to fix all this? Madara told Hashirama that he got it backward. It is families and friends first that comes before the village. Not Village before families and friends.

If all the previous Hokages had acted like Naruto, try to save one another and not kill, these problems wouldn't had happen.

You'd get arrested for being found plotting a murder but openly stating your plan for genocide..Madara and Nagato shouldn't be excused either. I liked edo nagato's attitude tbh. His giant weapon plan was worse than the IT. IT was just slightly more noble though in a sense but we seen how that turned out..

OT: Sasuke had a lot of things taken away from him, but he really went bonkers when he found out the village leaders used his brother, whom he looked up to destroy his own people for a messed up ninja system. Kakashi himself said it, Sasuke is the victim of the current ninja system. I am 100% sure you wouldn't go back to the place where your people are taken away, the people you used to know and love. I never said the shinobi system wasn't corrupt. Still doesn't excuse the fact that he's off his nut. Kakashi and plenty of others got over their troubles so don't try pull the sympathy card. Sasuke was a victim of a genocide and his government was on a path to dictatorship. Danzo was Hitler in the making, he had nationalist ideals bordering on racism, his hatred and jealousy was worse than Uchihas but worst of all he was a coward. The title of the thread Is Sasuke's plan to destroy Konoha. Danzo's death was totally justified. The way Sasuke did it was also a **** move, however XD Could've been handled much better if he was mentally stable but he wasn't.

I agree I don't know why people try and justify it because in my opinion I don't think Sasuke's intentions are meant to be justified. I mean, I think Sasuke's plan to destroy Konoha was understandable whether wrong or right since it's expected that someone put in his position could very easily lean towards the way Sasuke went. Nearly everything he valued was stripped from him or he removed himself, leaving him with emptiness and the thoughts of his poor brother's tormenting and heartbreaking life. The only thing he could think of was avenging his brother. He couldn't care less about right or wrong or justice. He just wanted someone, anyone to pay for what his brother went through therefore he looked to Konoha, where the roots laid for all of Itachi's problems and all of his own problems. Inconsiderate as hell, arrogant, merciless, selfish; Sasuke was all of these things and that is undeniable. He was at a time committed to killing thousands of innocent people who appeared to most, completely unrelated to his own issues. No ifs or buts, no way around it. Sasuke was an a**hole. You can't justify it, only understand why it happened. But villain or ally, good guy or bad guy, Sasuke is still a pretty amazing character.

It's very disturbing to me you would even compare Danzo to Hitlar....
