I've seen this in debates. An attack with a small aoe can have a "stronger" damage than a attack with a wide aoe.

Its about potency, people.
For example, Vegeta's big bang attack is island/country AoE, but is small star level in potency.

Okay, Kaguya's vacuum fists. Small aoe but it can bust through sasukes rikudou enhanced PS while a senjutsu bijuudama(wide area effect) from naruto couldn't even breach sasuke's PS. Meaning the vacuum fists have a stronger attack potency.Give us the examples you are talking about.
Would you rather be shot or have a nuke dropped on your face?

Shit comparison
Logically if I can blow up your entire body that does more damage than stabbing you in the heart
But if u speak of rasengan vs chidori then it should be noted rasengan can't kill for shit it's more of a blunt force trauma while chidori is a numbing and piercing type
