I won't lie; it's true both of them are sitting with unmastered power-ups. Sasuke however is missing 4 very special paths that definitely would have made a difference in the fight. The ability to repel any technique no matter the size/nature/mass/power is quite an enormous advantage. Being able to absorb that final rasengan would have won him the match for sure. Being able to summon limbs/armor, animals that apparently don't die (good for distractions), and quite possibly the most important of all, ripping out a soul for instant death are huge advantages whether anyone likes it or not.
I'm unclear on how TSBs work against Sasuke, but for now I assume they would erase his ninjutsu so I think Naruto could have used that much better to nullify Sasuke's techniques. Now DB states this about Naruto's form:
it's a gift from the ancestor of shinobi that grants a supernatural mental state allowing for the complete, universal comprehension of all things.
This is a technique that allows the user to quickly grasp the nature of chakra with the skill of a well-studied, highly sensitive master.
This shows Naruto should have been able to understand those natures quickly and even so, he didn't need to because the bijuu did it for him. I can't post scans because the last time I tried that, my post didn't go through and had to be approved by mods (I'm new so I don't know how to do it right). Moving on, the DB also says:
the caster has an unconcious/automatic mastery of the Sage of Six Path's "ability to levitate"
He definitely mastered flight. I think what Naruto needs to work on is his TSB manipulation for defense. His Six Paths form also functions the same way as his previous chakra shroud forms so there's not much to learn there.
Sasuke on the other hand works with a new eye with techniques Nagato took years to learn how to use. In fact, he was so behind on his rinnegan mastery that he only used 3 out of 7 paths and later discovered a whole new ability he did not have before.
I say they both were nerfed slightly but Sasuke more-so because if we give him all of his abilities, he could definitely do real harm to Naruto like ameno-blitz (Naruto never reacted to ameno the two times it was used on him) into human path (or preta), better defense for nullifying attacks, and better distractions/mobility/etc. If we give Naruto all of the bijuu abilities (which he already had, he most likely just considered it useless to use), he just has a new elemental-type that would get nullified just the same as any other technique.
Really, both of them were nerfed and there's no reason for you people to deny that. Naruto and Sasuke are my two favorites; they are both strong and it's reinforced that they are equal. There's no need to put one down to favor another but I do agree Sasuke got the shorter end of the stick at VOTE2. Sick bait because I bit but there really is no comparing the loss of the majority of the paths vs. the loss (not even loss) of different types of elemental chakra in my opinion. Somewhat off-topic, maybe someone can shed some light on why my post had to be reviewed? Did I mess up with links (I used imgur)?
