Why do people say "so and so with intel could beat so and so"?

Why do people say, "Person A with intel could beat person B" and then use this as a means of saying that person A > person B? People also say stuff like "Person A defeats person B if you restrict so and so from person B" and they use this as a point to say person A > person B as well.

You are literally giving person A an advantage and you are handicapping person B when you do this. It would only be natural for person A to win in this case and it would just be embarrassing if person A lost since they had the advantage.

That is like someone saying "If I have a machine gun and Bruce Lee's arms and legs are tied up then I can beat Bruce Lee. That means I am stronger than him".

Why do people do this?

Because so and so A is smarter than so and so B so with previous knowledge they could devise a strategy to beat them. Prime examples would be Reed Richards or Batman, going into a fight blind is not a problem for them but if they were given even just 1 day to prepare with some knowledge of their opponents they would have countless counters and weaknesses ready for the opponent.

Having intel on someone so a person can prepare is perfectly fine, restricting someone so another can win is not.

True, but you still have to account for the fact that person B could be just as smart and do the same thing as person A if person B had intel. Therefore it is just a handicap to give one fighter intel and not give it to the other one.

I'm not saying it is bad to have intel. I am mainly talking about when fans do vs matches. They purposely make it unfair for one fighter and then use it to say the other is stronger. The same goes for prep time. Examples include stuff like:

"Itachi with intel on Kaguya soloes Kaguya or Konan with prep time beats Madara." It is stuff like that. It is giving one person that intel or prep time that you can't assume that they would always have.

Danzo w/ KA ready solo NV.

KA is over rated. You can easily snap someone out of it and it can not be spammed. We also don't know the range you have to be in while looking at someone, so it might not even be able to get a flying opponent like Kaguya or a juubi jin or Ohnoki.

True in some situations both opponents are equally smart but typically these situations are used when one opponent is known for planning and the other is known for strength. I.E. Batman v Superman, if that fight happened in the street Supe's would win but if batman knew the fight was going to take place he would come in with some contingency plans. Even if Supes knew when and where the fight was he couldn't really prepare much except some booby traps. Now if you have something like Lee vs Shino and they both have intel then I think it'd be a wash.

I agree it's unfair, that's why I don't like restrictions at all unless one character is so broken that others would'nt stand a chance.

Intel is something happens within manga. It is just a condition, not unfair as intel gathering is a big deal for a ninja anyway.

Retrictions are generally made for making matchups more interesting as there are limited amount of characters so tweaking them a little leads more possiblities to debate.

Intel is normally given in order to equalize a vs match.

Same thing with restrictions

Nobody believes that if character A beats restricted character B that character A is stronger than character B- the only reason restriction are given is to create a even match.
