Oh, wow, really? Not a rhetorical question? Well, i'm gonna answer regardless..
A normal fan of a character is able to fully acknowledge his fave's strengths and weaknesses, virtues and flaws - be it in terms of power or how the character is built. More or less, the fan is able to defend his character well in an argument, but will most likely give up if he's up against mindless haters/trolls, which is the smart thing to do anyway.
A fanboy is different. He will either ignore or refuse to accept the flaws that his character has (in any sense), and will desperately defend him/her no matter who he's "debating" with. A fanboy ruins the credibility of the fans, which makes more people hate the character itself. A lot of times he will resort to bashing his character's antipode - basically what Naruto vs Sasuke threads are made of. The opposite of fanboy is a hater.
Sooo, i'm kinda saying it won't be bad for you to be just a normal Sasuke fan. ))
