Why do most Naruto fans hate one piece?

I'm a big Naruto fan, and between One Piece and Naruto, One Piece wins any day. The story is much more entertaining, more in-depth, much darker backstories, etc.

I like the show and want to get into it more but can completely see why people don't have time for it.

Animation style is unique and cool and the main character is one of the best in shonen jump IMO. That said, One Piece and Bleach fans have WAY worse things to say about 'Narutards'

The character's design/battle style irked me until I was about 200 chapters in
and I couldn't help but be disturbed that every female characters(even random
ones) all had an hourglass figure or were simply made butt**** ugly, unless they
were extremely young or old.

I also disliked and still dislike the majority of the strawhats that make me regret reading pages,
Brook, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Nami, and often Franky. Especially Brook and Usopp.

I don't hate it. In fact, I tried to read/watch it several times, but the story and characters imo were not strong enough to overcome how much I dislike the drawing style.

As far as Naruto fans bashing OP, I'd say it's the other way around 99% of the time.

You are generalizing. Most of these people are in to one of the series more than the other. What one likes in any piece of work is subjective. Naruto had some very interesting and compelling characters along with mythological references. OP has it's world building going for it along with romanticism of pirates. It comes down to which one you would prefer.

They can't appreciate the wonderful art of OP most of the time but there are some Naruto fans who actually read the series and aren't a fan of it. It boils down to preference.
