Why didn't Sakura help Naruto instead?

Mabye Kishi just wanted to give Hinata her chance. There's been a crapload of Narsaku developments in Shippuden. Now (if Hinata's alive) there's a chance they could get together. (NaruHina fans rejoice). If that's the case then you'll be happy becuase Sakura may realize she likes Naruto and she'll cry a lot and so on and so forth.

ok now you're just making up stuff and channeling your anger into your posts. Kishi does not like females because of all the main characters in Naruto, there is a 1 to 3 ratio for girls to guys. And of all these girls, they get no action. the males get 100% more action than they do. Even of the 3 sannin, tsunade is the weakest. Kishi doesn't like to develop his females. Tsunade never uses any elemental jutsus (which most jounin can use 2). Tsunade has a hard time beating up jutsu-less Orochimaru.

pre-Hidan & Kakuzu fight, Kishi made Ino's abilities useless because for some odd reason, Kakuzu sensed Ino got into the bird's head to watch them. And then she did nothing for the rest of that arc.

Even in the current filler, Hinata fails. I had such high hopes and was excited that Hinata would actually succeed at something for once, but nope... FAIL!

and for the most developped female character... Sakura... with the aid of a master puppeteer! (but she was still quite impressive)

About the question, Sakura was busy healing people, in case the question is meant only for Pain's invasion. She needs all her chakra for that.

And also, Shika's father has stated the best way to help Naruto is by staying away, so that's why they were doing so, so that Naruto would not have to think about harming Pain without harming his people.

If the spoiler is true, Hinata is going there because:

1 - she is the one who can see what's going on from that distance (remember Sakura asked her what was going on)

2 - as she can see, she goes there when Naruto cannot do anything

3 - and she doesn't mind giving her life, but loosing a doctor ninja, whether Sakura or any other, would be tactically wrong as they are needed.
