Why didnt madara just use zetsu?

Like he could have given spiral zetsu the rinnegan and put his will in its body. That way he wouldn't have to risk obito or nagato betraying him. Spiral is strong and would be crazy strong with rinnegan should be able to capture bijuu also even if madara got revived old he could act as life support and a battle suit.

A pure blooded Uchiha with Senju DNA and the potential to use MS and control the Kyubi is more powerful then a weak watered down version of himself and Hashirama. Zetsu isn't exactly meant for combat, he's more of an assistant to guide Obito.

That's why I said madara would "insert his will in it" also zetsu are only loyal to madara.

Not only that, but I doubt the Zetsu could use Doujutsu without having a host. Since they are not actually human, they can't use something like rinne tensei to bring Madara back on their own.

Spiral zetsu is not weak he's top 15 easy.

He was talking about Spiral zetsu (guruguru). Spiral zetsu can use 1000 armed buddha. He is by no means weak

Spiral zetsu IS strong and ofcourse they can use rinne tensei they are alive even if they are clones.

He has Yamato (or someone else) inside him amplifying his powers. Alone he isn't that strong.
