This is something I just thought about. Black zetsu said only madara and the rikudo ever awakened the rinnegan. I mean, she ate the shinju's fruit and gained some of it's power. Her son inherited chakra from her and was later able to awaken the rinnegan. This means that his rinnegan came from the shinju. Shouldn't his mother also have awakened it given that she obtained chakra directly from the shinju? And it was her chakra that was passed to her son?

thoughts?

Because females are inferior (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Anyway... we don't really know when he obtained the rinnegan. He could've gotten if after becoming Juubi Jin.

But to be serious, I think it has something to do with DNA mutation. Since she got influence of the fruit on her DNA structure, perhaps the following mutation only awakens in the next generation like it does in our universe. After all, there is a reason why it was the Sage who defeated Juubi, and not Kaguya.

OT: CC neg-reps peeps for being correct and making her mad with it, what a nasty girl :D

Interesting Question. Perhaps she had it but it was never shown. She is a legend after all, so there is a possibility that Black Zetsu didn't know about her.

the juuni can't be defeated; hagoromo more than likely did nothing more than seal it inside him the way obito and Madara did. No one can defeat the juuni, not even the sage.

Defeat = to controll, or seal it and then controll it's power. He obviously had full controll of it. Minato has defeated Kyuubi. Again, no logic in your post, again you're trying to argue the manga fact - even the legends say that he, in fact, had defeated Juubi. And it's Juubi, not juuni :) Dont be so nervous about being wrong, you even start to make typos.

right, cause he was there, right?

The elder son inherited his eyes from his father, so it would make sense for the sage to have gotten his eyes from his mother, who got them after eating the fruit
Black zetsu doesn't have to be there. He is madara's will. He knows everything madara knows. If kaguya had the rinnegan it would have been writting on the tablet
