Either being born with the chakra from the Shinju caused him to develop Rinnegan, he got it when he became the Jin, or he awoke it through some other means. All we know now is that the fruit won't grant you the Rinnegan.

Obito was only a jinchuuriki for like not even a day... the sage was a jin from the time he beat the juubi,up unitl he died. it's long term effects from being the shinju's jin will give one the rinnegan. anyways in the bottom panel, at tobi's statement implied that the sage was altered in some way from being a juubi jin.

Its the same reason why kushina didnt have cat face while naruto has. Being nine tails jin doesn't give you cat face automatically.
Just as eating the fruit not gonna awaken rinnegan. Base on manga, you eat the fruit, sheet a kid out then your kid has rinnegan.

we don't know what all you gain from the fruit other than god-like chakra. the rennigan is most likely a mutation due to the sage being born with the god chakra.

because madara combined the senju(juubi's yang) and uchiha(juubi's yin)bloodlines once he put hashi's dna into himself. anyways the manga stated the sage "awakened" the rinnegan. so it can be interpreted either way as him awakening it before becoming a jin or after he became a jin.

If senju is jubi Yang and uchiha jubi lying, then hashirma always half a jubi while madara always another half of jubi. Base on manga, so6p was strong enough to beat jubi already and didnt need any boost from jubi. And manga never stated so6p got any power from jubi.

The sage's son are byproducts of the creation of all things, He split them up into yin(eyes) and yang(body). anyways there's alot of evidence that wood style,sharingan, and rinnegan came from the juubi...
