Obito wins with Kamui. U_U
Getting this thread more off-topic, but I'll reply to this as well. xD
Yes, that's a very valid viewpoint to have when someone doesn't bother to understand the character.
Madara consistently contradicted himself by claiming his clan was first and then leaving them. Being manipulated via BZ and having things conveniently fall into place via BZ isn't prodigious.
Every prodigy in this series has made mistakes. Point invalid.
You're basically saying that Itachi is a failure since he couldn't control scenarios of conflicts that occurred kilometers away from him. That's called being human. He's not a deity.
Funny how Kabuto chose to point out that Itachi consistently protecting Sasuke in that fight and caring about him even in death touched his heart.
Shisui went behind his best friend's back and as a result got wrecked. Then committed suicide and left the entire problem in a 13 yr old's hands.
Danzo blackmailed Itachi. This would happen to anyone who cared for both sides.
If one doesn't live in the same vicinity as a character, it's impossible to protect them from everything. And even when they live near them, it's still not 100% possible.
Given that Sasuke would be dead long ago had it not been for Itachi. He did it enough.
That last part makes no sense. If Itachi screwed up, I'll admit it. What he did to Sasuke as far as choosing a path for him was very selfish. That's his fault regarding his brother. His faults aren't what you're pointing out. Also, I have many faves- not just him. I like them for what they do... I don't like them regardless of what they do. Had he done something I didn't like, I'd have stopped being a fan immediately and not cared for it.
^This post basically justifies him not being there. You're admitting he's a part of Akatsuki. An organization that Orochimaru left and they failed to track him. They wouldn't know what Orochimaru would be up to unless he already does it.
Inaccurate analysis. Careless flaws? It seems you're still believing in his facade.
All the prodigies made mistakes. And he was not made out to be perfect at everything. You missed the point behind the character entirely because for some reason or another, looking at what he really was makes you feel uncomfortable. Ah well, it is what it is.
Character development. He looked back at his mistakes as an Edo Tensei and realised he did wrong. This prevents a character from being bland and a flat character. You seem to prefer the more clear-cut characters that aren't controversial. That's okay, everyone has their own personal preference. Have a nice day.
Maybe so, but despite everything, I believe the evidence was too weak to justify his crimes. U_U

Him being a prodigy was never justified because prodigies rarely make foolish mistakes jeopardizing their own life along with others. Now the only Uchiha I can think was more of a prodigy, is Madara since firstly he lived through a period of turmoil and suffering(so it was more justifiable), he physically skilled able to take on opponents well older than him and even had the right mind set of seeking peace(and stuck to that ideal). Even if his method of pursuing peace was wrong, he was someone who followed the principles and ideas off a sacred tablet and did it all on his own while preparing ahead and setting up plans if the original failed. :hmm:

I already mentioned, I was referring to the screen time here. :|
No he did not because Orochimaru was highly instrumental in his plans and succeeded in capturing Sasuke as well as causing havoc in Konoha and this occurred during Itachi's life while he was in Akatsuki. It's all in the manga as well as the anime for proof during part 1. The incident lead to the 3rd Hokage's death and Oro's successful exploitation of Sasuke resulting in the formation of his snake cursed seal which Itachi had to remove later on. Itachi came with Kisame to check up on Konoha, after it's invasion but he was too late for the damage had already taken place. Already that is two failures and during his life and the undeniable proof is right there. U_U

Oh well maybe Sasuke shouldn't have helped Itachi during the battle against Kabuto then and gone to the battlefield after Naruto then? :| Itachi probably would've been subdued in the cave and under Kabuto's control all over again after rewriting the seal. That would've meant Sasuke would've remained a villain then. Shisui did what was best for the interest of himself as well as the Uchiha and he would've succeeded without a single life being lost, if it wasn't for that fuking Danzo. Danzo was seemingly in control of the situation from the shadows and manipulated Itachi with his tense words after stealing Shisui's eye thus resulting in a massacre. U_U

But Sasuke was just a kid back then and it was Itachi's job to protect him as he lived by that oath. Itachi was also known to always keep an eye on Sasuke. Obviously your response is careless just because he's your fave.

Same reply as above^ It was his job to protect and he wasn't even there. He was apart of an organization that would constantly keep track of all villages with tailed beasts and yet he was unaware? Again, a failure of naming him a prodigy. :eww:

His flaws are impetuous and worthy of valid criticism. His character was decieving and unstable. The mistake was to name him a prodigy and to make it out as if he was perfect at everything, when in reality he was not and failed miserably. U_U

Yah and all of that was what was witnessed afterwards when he gradually began revealing the truth as an Edo tensei. However, my point still stands as he was that sort of person during his lifetime. A truly overrated character indeed and your probably can't see this because of you're ignorance. Well, that's not my problem in the end. :hmm:
