I find it quite strange that Ashura took a long time to choose his successor (Naruto)
If Ashura was going to choose anybody, it should have been Obito
Now I am against Kishi's ideas of reincarnation, incarnation, prophecies, whatever
However, it still mind-boggling how Obito compared to Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, Hashirama, and other incarnations, is nothing special
But yet, he has the strongest willpower, one of the smartest minds, and has the capability of being the strongest character with both eyes.
He is similar to Naruto in many aspects but is greater overall than Naruto
1.) Unlike Naruto, Obito was talent-less and was considered to be the weakest Uchiha. On the other hand, Naruto was blessed with Kurama's chakra and was the son of a Hokage
2.) Obito cherished teamwork and his friends to the point that he was willing to die for them unlike early Naruto
3.) Obito did not want to lose his bonds with the people he loved and overcame Kaguya's Will, a trait that is shared with Ashura and his incarnations
4.) Without the tailed beasts, Naruto is inferior to top tier characters. He relies on them for his strength. On the other hand, Obito relies on his friends' strength because the power of the sharingan stems from the notion of cherishing and loving others
This was the reason why Obito unlocked the sharingan in the first place because he wanted to protect Kakashi
The reason why he awakened MS was because he lost the most important person in his life.
There is a misconception on how many Uchihas tend to solo and not rely on other's strength. The very fact that they rely on the sharingan represents how much they cherish the people they loved hence, Uchihas rely on others
It is a trait that Ashura possesses
Now I ask you, why wasnt Obito an incarnation of Ashura. Why is he an anomaly compared to other descendants of the So6p
1.) Is it because he is an Uchiha
But I thought Ashura takes in personality and traits into consideration
2.) Is it because he is not the main character and is not named after the series
Well, imo, he is more important than Naruto in terms of plot progression
3.) Is it because Obito is just plain flat out better than Ashura and all of his family members including So6p and Kaguya
I believe this one to be true because Obito achieved so much in life without having any connection to reincarnations, incarnations, prophecies, etc
Hence, why Obito is still alive
