[Theory] Why did Sasuke have more knowledge on Infinite Tsukuyomi than Naruto?

2 reasons:

1). Sasuke ended up receiving the Rinnegan, which gives immunity and counter to the Infinite Tsukuyomi. So, Hagoromo decided to hell him that, because Sasuke will end up receiving it.

2). Sasuke is naturally smart, so he might have figured that out.​

Since Sasuke wasn't caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi when it was casted, he realised that his Susanoo can block the light. That's why he rushed to save Team 7, because they could be caught anytime soon after the activation.

Sasuke seeing an ability/genjutsu and quickly figuring out how it works has happened multiple times in the manga.

So he figure out the moonlight and that it wouldn't last forever? Even though no one in the Susanoo can see what is going on outside at the time?

That's always been my question. Black zetsu doesn't have any of the required doujutsu to be able to read and decpiher the stone tablet. It's probably a plot hole...unless black zetsu took control of an uchiha's body at the time so he could decipher the tablet. But even then, he wouldn't know the whole contents since he never gained the rinnegan.

How did he realize that? And no, he couldn't have noticed. No one could see what was going on from the inside of the Susanoo with the wings covering it.

Actually Sasuke could see what's going on outside. This was stated in the manga. Sharingan gives him extra perception as well, so yeah he was able to tell it wouldn't last forever.

You're right, but it was his left eye not his sharingan. But still leaves the Sunsanoo protection(implying he knew about the light before it shined) and knowing that Naruto can be affected by it(perfect jins are immune to normal Genjutsu).

I think it was more common sense for Sasuke.

1) Why would he receive a Rinnegan that isn't capable of protecting him from Infinite Tsukiyomi? That would make his Rinnegan completely pointless if they'd lose the moment Madara lost interest in the fight and just start the genjutsu, which is exactly what happened.

2) He clearly saw the image of the Rinnegan on the moon, Chapter 677 page 6, so he deduced the moon had something to do with it, which explains why Madara went up so high.

3) Upon seeing the Moon shine so bright moments after having that Rinnegan image, everyone is falling under the genjutsu, and so is capable of connecting the dots: the moon's light is the Infinite Tsukiyomi.


He didn't really have to be told any of this; Madara himself even praised Sasuke's acute battle instincts, Chapter 674 page 12.

Did he decide to choose Indra/Sasuke as a successor this time? And this is what Naruto vs Sasuke will be about? Sasuke tries to cast his version of IT to control the world?

Sasuke was gifted with the visual prowess [Rinnegan] in order to save others from Mugen Tsukuyomi...

Naruto on the other hand possessed the body [The Rinnegan is needed to nullify IT] and it would suffice if one of em knows to stop the genjutsu..

Hagoromo actually chose both of em to be successors, when he passed down the powers and responsibilities

P.S. After hearing the words from his previous reincarnation [Uchiha Madara] about the importance of co-operation, doubt Sasuke will plan to cast the Mugen Tsukuyomi again [It would not serve any purpose] .​

Why would he assume Naruto would be immune to the ultimate genjutsu though? Also how do we know Naruto isn't? Sasuke acted like he knew, but that's part of his personality, doesn't mean he wasn't operation on assumptions.

1) Ashura chakra + Indra Chakra = Rinngian. That's how he got it.

2) That doesn't explain how he knows that IT can affect Naruto. Killer B told him that doesn't work on Jins.

Very simple reasons... Sasuke is a genius as opposed to Naruto, Sasuke has the sharingan and now the rinnigan, which can see through genjutsus and he realized his susanoo could shield people from it, and Naruto would have been affected because he does not have any special abilities to withstand genjutsu, hence why Sasuke rushed down to shield him and the others from the technique to begin with.

The IT is a God level technique, so being a "perfect jin" does not cut it.
