Why did people want Tobi to be Izuna or Kagami?

Because Tobi was an evil villain , the complete opposite of what people saw of him in kakashi gaiden.

Izuna was a good guy too, who sacrified his eyes for his brother and his clan. Kagami - who the **** is he? we know nothing about his personality, how would it make for an interesting reveal?

the think is ... that people hated obito's backstory , fodder rin being the main reason he started the war
& falling magically into madara's hideout .... & shit like that ... being part senju .... to me it was a horrible

People were hating BEFORE we got a backstory, if not more than now. At least now the majority of those same people call Obito a badass lol
Face it, for antis no matter what would be his backstory they would still be hating. Those who hate only his backstory are actually mostly Tobito theorists, who expected much more awesome motivation from something they invested years in.



And to OP, no matter who Tobi would be, there would still be hate and "underwhelming feeling". Because Tobi was presented as Madara, badass FV. And him ending up as a fodder like Kagami, Izuna, Obito, SHisui would still be bad. He couldn't be any Son, Sage of SIx Paths himself, because he wouldn't need to use Madara's name then, as they are more legendary and stronger than him. It had to be someone less powerful , "wannabe badass" in short. And that's what dissapoints everyone, I guess. The only reason people wanted Izuna is because he was said to be as strong as Madara(but still inferior noname fodder).

At first everyone thought it was Obito, then people thought that kishi would be smarter and not have such an obvious candidate behind the mask after he started putting loads of evidence to support it. That's why people started making Izuna/Kagami theories because they put their faith in kishi to make a plot twist instead of just going with the obvious option. And when chapter 599 came out, NB imploded on itself.

Yeah I thought so too but then I think Kishi did it to add more twists to the story
