Why did Orochimaru wanted the 3rd Hokage dead?

I'm not saying sasuke wouldn't get killed or wrecked. But he would destroy the village, he'd lose like pain did, but in the end the village would be destroyed and burnt away for eternity

i still don't agree totally but i can see your point now... i thought you were saying sasuke would have killed all shinobis of the leaf but that wasn't the case so i get what you are trying to say...
