I had this thought a while back but never bothered to post a thread on it, Does anyone else feel like Obito should have won that battle? I know what you're thinking and no i'm not underestimating Minato's power at all, i fully understand that he was a very powerful Shinobi and considered a once in a life time prodigy by Jiraiya, nor am i saying that Obito cant be Tobi (I was actually one of the people saying Obito was Tobi from the start) it all still seems really suspect to me. Let's look at this with an open mind for a second..
We see here in Manga chapter 599 after arriving late for academy entry Obito was handed his orientation documents by Rin, it states that he then went on to graduate from the academy at age 9 and was then assigned to be part of a 3 man squad alongside Kakashi and Rin under the Guidance of Minato..
We then see that after failing twice Obito finally passed the Chunin exams and graduates at the age of 11 (as stated on Narutopedia) making him a student of Minato's for just over two years..
Finally we see here in Manga chapter 293 that Kakashi has just been made a Jounin and Team Minato are about to set off on a mission to destroy Kannabi Bridge..
On Narutopedia it states that Obito was age 13 at the time of his supposed demise during Kakashi Gaiden arc meaning that we can safely assume Obito had spent 4 years as a student of Minato's, my question is that surely as an ex student of The fourth Hokage's having studied under him for just over four years, Obito had enough time to at the very least have the faintest insight into his Sensei's techniques? weaknesses and flaws, how to counter his speed etc.. Think about this way, Naruto spent 3years under Jiraiyas tutor-ledge and knew his Sensei's biggest weakness was his in ability to not perve over beautiful women, He even used it to his advantage to defeat him at one point during the anime, granted it wasn't serious.
I just feel like Obito being a cautious person having prepared for his battle with Minato should have had the means to at the very least injure him rather than defeat Minato, you don't spend four years training with someone without seeing all the flaws and weaknesses their jutsu can possess, i feel at though the way that battle ended (with Obito losing an arm + control of the Kyubi and having to retreat) is unrealistic when you put all the facts together and really think about, maybe he just didn't prepare well enough, i don't know.
Anyway i'd love hear you guys views on this, please keep an open mind!
