Why did Nagato have to die?

I really don't understand why Nagato died.

Konan said "If he uses it now with these chakra levels", and in various others its says almost the same thing.
Not that by using that jutsu kills you, it's just that he was exhausted
Why didn't he just wait? A 8 hour rest is enough time for him to replenish all of it, and it's not like a humans body deteriorates in less than 8 hours. Since people sleep.
(J-Man was under a deep ocean. He's long gone)
I guess manga has no logic.

First of all, in a manga you can't really have a character say, "gimme a few hours, just sit around while i rest."

Secondly I doubt all of konoha would have allowed him to live long enough for him to do so, as i doubt they would trust him to revive their people as much as naruto trusted him. To them, he was still the monster that destroyed konoha in the first place.

It's because Nagato was almost out of Chakra and had lower Chakra than the technique(Rinne Tensei)required...if a ninja overuses his Chakara when it's almost empty.....he/she dies

^Kakashi died from using Kamui with lower Chakra than Kamui required....and as result Kakashi died.

Nagato simply died from emptying his last resort of Chakra and using a technique that required more Chakra than he had.

1. I think the Rinne Tensei has a very high chance of killing the caster no matter what. Proof: Obito's speech to Madara.

2. I think the Rinne Tensei may be harder to cast and more painful if more than one person is involved and/or enough time has passed. There are various hints about this.

3. I think Nagato wanted to show Naruto a sign of his deep trust to him by immediately repair the most important thing he damaged: lives.

Because Nagato is an idiot. He could of easily absorb Naruto attacks and replenish some of his chakra and his life force, and Naruto being naïve as he is, would actually voluntarily give him some chakra. Even though Naruto was still tried himself I doubt it would be to the point were something like that would danger his life.
