If he had let Naruto die in the past (when Naruto and Kurama were not friends yet), than Kurama would be revived somewhere and be free right?

Why did he save Naruto if he wanted to be free?

He didnt knew about the revival part?
He cared about Naruto and didnt want to let him die?

What do you think?

EDIT:
(I am not talking about today's episode, I am talking about Kurama helping out Naruto in general, before they became friends).

Like when Jiraiya pushed Naruto from a cliff for example.

He didn't necessarily save him
He just over took him in an attempt to break the seal and be free

The Kurama most likely stayed inside Naruto because of

One, the uzumaki seal cage he is in, is a very powerful sealing technique that he could not escape easily without unsealing it by naruto

2. Kurama may have pity the young uzumaki seeing he didn't had no parents also a great way to manipulate naruto's hatred

3. Kurama may have preferred naruto over anybody else and most certainly Prefer naruto over the masked man 16 years ago

yoooooooo bro
i was just thinking about this yesterday. literally about 15 hours ago
i honestly think that kurama felt bad for naruto resulting in him lending some power.
however thats my opinion, maybe it will be revealed later on after the war when naruto can talk to the kurama personally just like B and the hachibi

Narutos seal is set up to leak kuramas chakra in times of danger or when his emotions are heightened

Most likely he may have developed affection towards naruto afterall He was with him since birth watching naruto growup without parents and being treated as an outcast.

I guess the ninetails probably preferred not to die with his host even if he knew he'd come back after a while. It could be a simple preference.

Yeah this could be true.
In addition as in the other replies, Kurama could have developed affection towards Naruto.

So Kurama didnt give him any chakra around those times. It leaked out of him without his approval so to speak? That would make sense.

Allthough he gave Naruto some power vs Neji right? That didnt just leak out.

he might not have died if naruto died but he probably will still be sealed inside of him. i don't know about you but i don't want to spend an eternity sealed inside someone's corpse...

then again he told sasuke that "if you kill naruto you would not like the result". which confuse me. maybe kishimoto changed his mind...

uhhh.. if the jinchuuriki dies the bijuu dies too.. but the bijuu will revive..
probably he will be smaller when revived, like in the flashback with rikkudou and all the bijuu..

and he will soon enough be sealed in someone else, while naruto wasn't that bad as far as that's concerned.. and i think he found naruto a interesting person to begin with.

Because when he was writing Part 1 and early Part 2 Kishimoto planned that killing the jinchuriki would kill the tailed beast as Kurama said, but then he changed his mind, creating a plot hole.

He has always done that, hes just trying to get naruto to rage and eventually break away the seal.
Just like in the fight against Pain, where he nearly succeeded in doing so.

kishimoto doesn't change his mind..

That's an opinion, not a fact. I think he also changed his mind when he made Itachi an anti-hero after first establishing him as an incredibly immoral and ruthless villain. Or when he decided to change the theme from hard work will get you ahead to destiny. Watch Naruto vs. Neji after you know Naruto's father is one of the most powerful ninjas ever. Neji's philosophy explains why he lost. Kishimoto changed his mind about the themes.
Thus, there's a pattern of him changing his mind. Kishimoto does not plan things out since this comes out weekly, as also evidenced in all the deus ex machinas that have saved Naruto and Sasuke.
